Nana Boozhoo, Aaniin, Greetings!

Miigwetch (thank you) for visiting Eastern Woodland Art. I’m Waabi Makoohns which loosely translates to mean “Little White Bear," and my English name is James Darin Corbiere.

I'm an Anishinaabe artist of the Bear Clan, originally from Wikwemikong on Manitoulin Island, Ontario. My work honours the rich traditions of Eastern Woodland art, weaving together ancestral wisdom and contemporary expression through storytelling and vibrant imagery.

I’m excited to share that a brand-new website is currently in development and will officially launch by this spring. While I work on bringing this new chapter to life, there are many ways for us to stay connected and for you to explore my work:

Miigwetch (thank you) for supporting Indigenous art and storytelling. I look forward to sharing this next chapter of my journey with you soon.

Baamaapii (see you again),

Darin
